97 4.3L Brake Fade

Ive recently gotten my brake pads changed. While driving home I was testing them and they work just fine! When I turn on my AC and hit my Breaks hard I Smell a smell like burning brake fluid. Its a very strong smell. I get alittle bit of smoke comming from under my hood. Any suggestions? Im sure the mechanic ripped me off with some POS brake pads. Just wanted to know if it sounds like it could be something else.

Thanks!

Open your hood and make sure that the cover on the master cylinder is on properly, he may have added brake fluid and didn't get it on tight.

Yeah, if i push down on the center of the cover i hear air escaping. Im guessing that could be the problem. Im going to go buy another one that holds on just alittle tighter. Thanks!

That would probably explain the brake fade too. I noticed there is some drizzle of brake fluid down where the Master Cylinder and Brake Booster fit together (big metal round thing). Il try this and let you know! thanks again.
