Re: head gaskets

I did not see any head gaskets, but I assume you are speaking about the 65 dollar intake gasket.

Anyway, it says they made it out of metal so it would heat the air coming in. I was under the impression that you wanted the air to be colder so you could put more air in and increase you compression, hence the cold air intake. But if you RSX is stock it says it will add some performance, and if it didn't I would bitch at them. I personally would keep lok ing and do some comparison shopping.

Re: head gaskets

No, the intake gasket at crsx is NOT made out of metal. It's made out of plastic. It DOES lower the temperature of the air since the stock piece is all metal and it is supposed to give you a few more hp.

It wouldn't hurt to change it, but it requires you doing a lot of work to get to it - like taking off the header. I would suggest getting a new header as well if you're going to put that much work into just changing the gasket. A replacement header should be in the $300 - $500 range, depending on which one you get.

I would probably spend the cash on a header if I was going to go through all the trouble of replacing the gasket, but that's just me.

If you're just looking for a few more hp, just replace your stock intake, if you haven't already done so. It's probably a bit easier than taking your header off.
