95 Windstar, window motor removal

The rivets on the window track nearest the lock on the driver's door broke and the track dropped out of place. Before I realized that was what I had heard happen I ran the window up and down a few inches a couple of times to see if it still worked. It worked but I could feel that it was rubbing on something so I ran it back up and left it alone. I've replaced the track and it looks like it's in the right spot but now the window doesn't move at all. I'm getting + and - 12 volts at the connector to the motor as I operate the switch one way or the other. The switch felt warm after that but I don't know if it was from the current or from solar energy. I'd like to take the motor out and verify if it's bad or the window is bound up. How do I get it out??

Details are essential here Iggie, What model year, and what trim package? Mine is a 95, GL. (3.8L). I fixed mine this way.

1. Put Window 2" from UP. (Drag by hand, while "mashing" on the window button)

2. Put a droplight into the door cavity.

3. Disconnect the power to the "up/down" motor.

4. Unscrew two Hex Bolts, with a nut driver, that hold the "up/down" motor to the scissor rack.

5. Wrestle out the motor from the spring loaded clip

You should be holding a 1 lb electric motor with a 3" shaft and a pinion gear on the end of it.

Thanks. Mine is the same, a GL with a 3.8L. It's raining all this week and I have to work outside so I haven't had a chance to try it yet. After I pull the motor and gear out will the scissors mechanism be free enough that I have to watch for the window to drop down, or is there enough friction in the guides to keep it where it's at?
