Red face tranny problem

i got a really stupid problem and can't figure it out... i have a 700r and it shifts into 1st and 2nd then wont shift into 3rd or 4th. the only way i can shift it into 3rd is shift into N then quick into overdrive and it shifts into 3rd but then slips back out. i dont get it i changed the oil and there was nothing in the pan no clutch peices just brown burnt oil. i was wondering if it had to be rebuilt or just needed something stupid and cheap.... please help!!!! you can email me directaly at [email protected] or post it here.. thanks

Re: tranny problem

I had the same problem, and I was told to replace three solenoids that's visable after you remove the pan.

Not only did the solenoids solve the problem, the transmission worked much better once they were replaced.

Re: tranny problem

but if the fluids brown and burnt, then the trannys probably been overheated too much.. then all the seals start to harden and break down
