Question 01 Pathfinder SES code P1140

I'm new on the forum, I have a SES light that just came on. Autozon read the code P1140. I understand this is a cam sensor problem. My question is which side? Where can I purchase one besides the dealer? Will it hurt to run the vehicle with the light on? It seems to be running fine and my gas milage is the same as with no light. I have only 42,000 could I still be under an emmissions warrenty? Thanks for the help!

Thanks lewis! Your information was right on. I changed the r/s cam sensor which was $71.00 at my local Nissan Dealership. Returned to Autozone and had them reset my light and the fault is gone. Probably would have costed me over $200.00 from Nissan since I'm out of warrenty. This site is a great source of information. Thanks again for your help!

Hey Ace,
My car has the same problem. Were you able to fix this yourself once you had the part? My dealership wants to charge me $250 to fix! I don't know anything about cars though...

jojo, Very easy fix, The sensor is located on the passenger side front of the engine. It's attached with two 10mm bolts and it has an electrical connector with 4 wires that should be removed before removing the bolts. The cam sensor cost $71.00 at my local dealership, They had one on hand. After replacement, go to your autozone and have them clear your code. It's that simple. Hope this helps.
