97 Lumina Flushing

I need to flush out the coolant system on the Lumina. 2 questions. Where is the plug for draining the block and to make sure when I refill Im getting the block as well. Also, should I consider changing to the green stuff and getting away from the dex-cool?

Re: 97 Lumina Flushing

ha, I just posted a question like that. I would get dex-cool out. The only reason they put it in there is because it doesnt need to be flushed for something like a 100,000 miles, but if you keep on top of your coolant flushes, you shouln't have a problem with the green stuff. Just make sure you get all the crappy death-cool, oops, sorry, dex cool out. Mixing coolants is bad. FYI, the reason I dont like dex-cool is because the 3.1's are known to have the intake gaskets go out, and its not really a big deal unless dex-cool is in it, dex-cool will eat away at the head should the intake ever blow, So as a preliminary precaution, I'd put the green stuff in.
