98 silverado wipers quit working,is it true that you can remove the circuit board and solder the connection?

Re: 98 silverado wiper problems

yes you can, usually you can just reheat the old solder where the connector interfaces the circuit board

Hi there, I am not Jeremy, but yes, it's for the intermittent function as well as the others. Common problem, you'll be all set if you re-flow that solder.

wiper module

you might call your gm dealer because there was a recall on the wiper module for quite a few years.

My 98 Z71 has a wiper problem. don't turn on, but if I reach my hand out the window and pull on the one driver side wiper, they start going. After I shut them off they don't stop. So I reach out and do the oppisite try to hold the wipr on it's down cycle, and they stop but not always in the full down postion. What is this wiper motor thinking? I have learned to live with it. In southern California rain is not very offen. In fact it would be a desert if we didn't steal our water from the Owens Valley up north.
