Alternator HELP for 92 gtp

Can anyone tell me the best and easiest way to get to the alternator and replace it? Had a motor put in this car garage didnt know what they were doing, also have add coolant light on when full of antifreeze, and would like to know what oil pressure should be when sitting idle not giving it any gas. Would really like some help on this when talking to this guy on the phone, you guys seem to know alot more than this mechanic does, even read about the crank position sencer on here and he replaced that. Hope you can help !

Re: Alternator for 92 gtp

Idling the PSI with half worn oil should be around 40-45 PSI's. If you have a 3.4 engine (OUCH!!!), the way I get it out is loosing the right side front chasis bolts and letting the engine hang. The alternator should be facing you at this time. The low level coolant sensor is located on the radiator side(I do not remember which one) it is a small black box with two wires I beleive is below the radiatoer filling neck. Repalce it, it is around 15 bucks. And if they did not know what they were doing go to the consumer union or similar government agency. The 3.4 DOHC is a great engine, but, when working with it you have to be very carefull with the heads and cams. There are no marks to time the car correctly and since the engine fires twice (intake and exahust) it is really hard to tell when the timing is not setup correctly. Usually when the timming is not correct the car will idle ok but will lack power under load.
