any solutions to reduce turbo lag?
i was thinking doing the 9:1 compression pistons compared to the 8:1. Im thinking running 9:1 at 10psi will produce just as much power as the 8:1 at 15psi would. and the 9:1 pistons will reduce lag of the turbo because it will already have a better compression from the go than the 8:1 will so it will get up faster... just my theory...
is there other ways to reduce lag of a turbo? Different designs of headers, how they are set up? wrapping the header to keep the heat from escaping the header will push the turbo faster because heat is energy ... yet again another guess from my point. |

Re: any solutions to reduce turbo lag?
Its called nitrous.
the only way to get the lag to go away is get more exhaust flow over the blades of te turbo. Untill you do that there is no real point.

lighter turbo parts work. like making the turbo out of ceramic parts allows it to be spun easier. you could also make the inlet smaller, which would make the turbine smaller and easier to spin. but doing so restricts exhaust and i think you loose a lot of top end power. i'd talk to some turbo makers and see what turbo would make the best results for what you want.

Re: any solutions to reduce turbo lag?
smaller turbos will have quicker response and less lag.....however your overall power will max quickly and it wouldn't allow high lbs like the bigger turbos

Re: any solutions to reduce turbo lag?
like Corky Bell says..If you have no lag,you have no turbo.

Re: any solutions to reduce turbo lag?
just spray WD-40 on the turbo wheel
or you can just get a turbo that doesnt suck |
