LT1 bolt ons any ideas?

I have a 94 camaro Z28 with a 6-speed. i have the following bolt ons already: flowmaster exhaust, cold air intake, venom control module. It has 127000 miles so i would wait for the internal goodies until rebuild time. Also about to get SS wheels 17 X 9.5'' front with 275/40s and 17 X 11'' with 315s. And also wondering if anyone has gutted or took off there cats or cat on 93-97 LT1's and if so.. what kind of gains hp wise and if u got a hella meaner tone.

well when you get around to the internals, set it up for forced induction so you can.....put a blower on it.

Re: LT1 bolt ons any ideas?

Do you have a C.A.I. or headers or gears. Because I think those are all bang for the buck mods on a LT1, Although the 6 speed got 3.42's which is a pretty good gear ratio to start with but you can actually go up to 4.10's without any major issues. Also when you do plan to go ahead with the rebuild without doubt Head/ Cam package

Re: LT1 bolt ons any ideas?

no i dont have headers yet, and i would like to get like 3.73's but ur right the 3.42's i have now r cool for now. Well i planned on takin this engine as far as i can so i can save up for an awesome rebuild kit with all the good shit, but i live in the Cali so the smog thing blows, and i dont know if i would get a supercharger cuz i wanna keep it street legal, cuz unfortunately this is my daily driver for now and the winter(shit) last winter i was all over the place with my rear end well my tires weren't the best, but with that stupid skipshift shit it wont let me shift into second until 3000 so i have to accelerate hella slow but off course i could just go from first to third which i have done may times. i need that skipshift eliminator

Re: LT1 bolt ons any ideas?

At some point of modding your car your going to have to program the PCM for changes and while your at it they always throw in the programming out the cags. So I would just get used to it for now although under heavy throttle conditions you can go right into 2nd right?

Also not that I would go the supercharger route because of cost which you can easily get the same power from a cam/head package but they do have LT1 smog legal blower's and no cats will be a big deal but headers also you have choice as alot of them are smog legal too. I use to live out there too

Re: LT1 bolt ons any ideas?

yes i can shift into second under heavy acceleration but it just sucks driving around, when ur trying to save on gas and cant shift into second in low rpm. Yea that cam/head package sounds perfect. How much is that skip shift eliminator anyway?
