I just bought a 91rex with a smoky d15b DPI motor
I have ordered a JDM d15b for it but after investigation I am now considering upgrading that order to a d15b VTEC for $60 more I would like to know how much trouble this conv would be this is my first engine swap and I dont want to get stuck with a major project that I cant drive for a while If it its just swaping a few wires and adding a resistor pak like a DPFI to MPFI I would like to know. Waddya think? |

Re: DPFI to VTEC conv
this project is probably more difficult but better than a zc swap. i've heard a lot of complaints about the zc and i've heard a few good things... but i've heard only good stuff about the d15b vtec. however for the d15b vtec u will need to do wiring for vtec, dpfi to mpfi conversion, and if i'm correct...an si ecu.

Re: DPFI to VTEC conv
the only real problm is the tranny because d15bvtec is obd1 and is hydro so you gotta swap your old long ass geared dx cable tranny for a si or by the conversion kit!
