Fuel filter problem
Ok, I'm back again. Went to change the fuel filter on my 1997 Blazer LT AWD. Guess I should have doen it sooner. Trucks got 102000 miles and its still the original filter. Well the nut is frozen. I used flare wrench so as not to round the nut over, soaked it in BP Blaster. Still wont budge. Obviously no heat can be used here. Any other ideas?

Re: Fuel filter problem
keep on soaking it and use two wrenches to loosen the connector.
One on the filter nut and one on the connector. Also, maybe try a different penetrating oil like wd40 or something. |

Re: Fuel filter problem
Hey just a quick question:
I just bought a set of metric flair wrenches and they are all to small to fit the fuel filter. What size wrench are you using? |

I used two small adjustable wrenches.

Re: Fuel filter problem
Use a 5/8" and 11/16" tubing wrench. Kroil is a good penetrent. Make sure you spray the tube into the nut also, that is more than likely where the problem lies.
