97 aerostar trans codes
hi all....
can anyone telll me what the following codes could mean i need to do??? 1997 aerostar xlt extended 4.0. L , Automatic. 190KM/// CODES p1762...overdrive band failed p1780...transmissionn control switch, circuit out of range.. the only symptom is that there is a slight slip in 3rd gear maybe when going into O/D... and only once in awhile...

if your overdrive band has failed, the tranny needs overhauled. that is an internal part that needs tended to after the tranny has been taken apart. the other can be replaced with the tranny still in place.
