If i...

If i raced my friend in his Subaru Legeacy, who would win?
I'm getting my car out of the shop tomorrow and i've been meaning to take him a long time ago, but due to circumstances out of my control i havent been able to take him until now.

Anyway, he's got a 99 legacy outback sedan (awd), intake, borla catback, plugs pulleys, and two 10' subs in the back. his car is automatic.

My car is stock.

i'm assuming your rx7 is a non-turbo, in which case i don't think you'd win, sorry. those subbie's are fast cars not to be underestimated. of course his car is an auto so yuo might have an advantage there......anyway, theres only one way to find out for sure who'd win.

Re: If i...

remeber that his cas weighs nearly 500lbs more than mine (because he has an outback) and the power difference is 15 hp (maybe more but thats the stock difference).

Re: If i...

the 2nd generation FD's are not to be underestimated. i beleive it will be close. 500lbs more plus the stereo. the systems i install woofers weigh 30-50lbs and enclosures sometimes weight as much as me or more (140lbs). he has the advantage from a stop because he is AWD, but if you keep yorus from spinning and with a 600-700lbs weight difference...if he has 15hp stock with thoes modes he might hace 25-30 on you. intake may give you a 3-5% hp increase at the crank and exaust a 5-8% increase at the crank and pullesy maybe 4% depending on how much they slow odwn assesories. he is also and auto wich will give him another advantage from launch but if he doesnt know how to launch and you do it will be about even. if one of his wheels brake loose he goes from AWD to 1WD, usually the front right tire. give him a run for his money then go get you some intake, exaust, etc. if it is carburated (i cant remember if 2nd was or not) then dont bother moding that engine go for a Turbo 13B. dont ever ger an NA 13B if looking to go turbo as you will have to buy a new ECU and the turbo 13B's ecu will handle quite a bit of boost before you need to upgrade it to allow for more fule (or just slap some larger secondary injectors in there). then give him a run for his money, and if he hasnt upgraded then you will own him

Re: If i...

Hmmm... the 2nd generation rx7 is FC,and no its not carbed (although i could change from fi to carb, i dont really want to. early 1st gens were carbed) but yeah i do think he would kill me. The thing is, i've been debating over the last few months wether i should buy the newer gen rx7 or mod the living daylights out of the one i have now... decisions...

Oh.. and one more thing: the 2nd gen rx7 ecu sucks major ass. Thats why every serious rx tuner always gets a haltech or the like to tune.
