Car wont Start
Hey I had a bunch of problems with my 420a engine ending in the overheating and ending of its life. So i bought another one and put it
in my eclipse gs 95'. After hooking up all the wiring harness, and everything else, I havent been able to start it. The engine will turn over, but im getting no spark. The book said it was this or that sensor but after changing them still no luck. I read a earlier article about changing ac condensor wires with the coil pack wires ( like the plugs) but I dont really know what they were talking about. I was hoping somebody could enlighten me to a solution, or a better explanation please. Thanks alot. |

Re: Car wont Start
I know on the turbo motors the AC compressor and coil pack connectors are identical. A friend of mine did in fact mix them, and sure enough the car wouldnt start
The NTs should have different connectors though, and the odds of the AC matching the coil pack on that harness as well have to be slim. On a turbo car, there are only a few parts that will keep you from getting spark, NT should be similar. Crank/Cam signal, ignition drivers in ECU, ignitor pack, coil pack, plug wires, plugs. And all the wiring in between. I may have missed something but I Cant think of anything else right now.

Similar, but different...95 Eclipse
I just purchased a 95 eclipse, and its doing something similiar that I haven't been able to figure out. It will run for a little bit (10-15 minutes)..then just shut off. When I check the coil pack, its not getting any voltage (at the middle wire feeding the coil pack). Don't know if the coil pack is fed by the Cam Sensor, or the Crank sensor...or if there's something else I should be checking. Just frustrating... so any help and/or recommendations would also be appreciated.
