New OEM springpack
Well lo and behold! I just had my rear sagging springs replaced under warranty with NO QUESTIONS ASKED! Well I take that back, he did ask me where I got all of that "kick ass stuff" for my truck! Directly following with "man your truck rocks", "man your truck is tight"! He then told me he appreciated my business and to come back anytime.. DAMN! Beaverton Nissan Service Dept. Kicks ASS!
It looks like the X is about 2" higher in the rear now... I will check for sure when I get home.

cheers!
Very sweet deal!
Funny, I just got back from a local Nissan dealer & they are ordering me two new 2000 XE aluminum alloy wheels under warranty (both are cracked, one much worse than the other). My mileage reads 35,930 & the tech said he was pretty sure the extended warranty wouldn't cover the wheels so I kind of lucked out as I was not aware of this. The lead tech actually wanted to replace all 4 wheels 'cause he thought it stood to reason that the other 2 may develop cracks but the administrative guy (you know, the salesman who gets promoted to head-up the service department but doesn't know squat about sh!t) said Nissan would never go for that .Anyways, looks like we both had pretty good dealer experiences today ![]() |

Nice!!
I have to take mine on for the 30km service and I'm hoping that I will not get any grief from the mods that I have done to the X. I don't think that I should but I'm not sure what they will think of the CIBS install . |

If you don't have the extended, they expire with the 3/36,000 bumper to bumper warranty.

Can you post that P/N for those Kirk? Also, I am trying to save all the money I can... if you had to choose, what would you get? The AALs or the shackles?

what kind of "place"?
Did you go through a 4x4 store (like a 4 Wheel Parts)?
Also, did you replace the load spring like Philosopher mentioned he did? I'm wondering this 'cause the rancho website shows their addaleafs being positioned between the spring pack and the load spring (in other words, they indicate the load spring should be left on). Also, I believe you've got a KMA; any thoughts on the addaleaf's ride feel for those of us not lucky enough to have a KMA ?I do have 9116's in the back so perhaps I can adjust down to compensate for extra stiffness. <sigh> I don't know though.... Also, I'm beginning to like the addaleaf option over the shackle (I'm not looking for much lift anyways) 'cause it seems to me that the shackle rotates/lowers the back end of the spring pack making it more prone to sagging...that's just my impression, though. |

I removed the load leaf. the stock u-bolts are not long enough to have it on there. i might get bigger u-bolts and put the load leaf back on. it just doesn't seem good to not have that in there. but a few of the people who's opinions i trust have told me it is only neccessary if you are carying really heavy loads.
as for the feel of them without the custom bumper....mine is not on there right now, i am running the stock bumper right now as my custom bumper is being worked on up at Skid Row. it feels fine to me. i imagine it'll be different with the bumper on though. the rancho 9116s are eh limiting factor in my setup. with the shackles and the AALs, i bottom them out. which is fine for the moment, cause otherwise i would have to lengthen the brake lines and diff breather. and yes i got them from a 4x4 shop. anyone that carries rancho products should be able to get them i would think. |

thanks...
Cool & a big "thanks" as always for the info....
I'm guessing that with the addaleaf and no shackle my 9116's won't bottom out (well, maybe under *some* circumstances ).Looks like I'll order the addaleaf from 4WheelParts since FSR doesn't list them on his website (I did notice a recent nissan-offroad.com site update, though).I may also look for bigger u-bolts so I can keep the load leaf on there. |

There is no real point in keeping the load leaf with the AAL. If you buy that part (on the leaf itself, it says Rancho part # RS510 and then underneath that it says "P57022". According to Rancho, it is an element of one of the rear spring packages. It can be bought individually but isn't usually, i.e. most retailers would have to special order it) and look at the instructions, it tells you to replace the load leaf if you only have one per side (thus I said that we really are doing a "replace a leaf", not an "add a leaf"). The instructions state that if you have 2 load leaves per side that one should stay and one should be ditched.
Email FSR and he can get the part for you - just because it isn't listed on their site doesn't mean he can't get it. ![]() |

Okay, I get it now.
So, you could think of the Rancho RAL (replacealeaf) as being a load leaf with some arc to it; kind of a poor man's replaced spring pack , an "upgraded spring pack" I guess...er, or something like that....Speaking of which, I'm assuming some/most of you got FSR's email this morning about having pricing on the Rancho leaf in "20 minutes". I've been waiting all day in a bit of suspense.... |
