Choices Choices: 300zx Twin Turbo or MR-2 Turbo

Alright, thanks guys for ansering my bimmer questions. Now that i've been researching the different classes of bmw's and such i realized that it wasn't the car for me....no offense cassie'sman, but i couldn't afford to fix one if something broke...so now that i've gotten that out of the way. I definetely want a rwd car...i have been doing my research and have narrowed it down to two cars. The 300zx Twin Turbo and the MR-2 turbo. I know that an MR-2 would have better grip from a stop because the engine weight is over the wheels but 300zx's haul ass at high speeds. It's hard decision and i was hoping ya'll could chip in....peace

First of all the MR2 dosnt come turbo. Some come supercharger though. Buying a NA MR2 and saving up for a turbo kit is your best bet with the money you got. If you cant afford an older bimmer dont even look for a 300zxTT. For 6k any one you find will need a LOT of work. Because a good 300zxTT usually goes for around 10k. So out of those two your better off with the MR2.

yes the AW11 MR2's only came in NA and S/C but SW20's came with 3s - NA and turbo 2 litre engines. the 3s-GTE has heaps of potential and i would be taking it over the 300zx
