Re: fuel milelage

yip, not good at all.

How are you calculating the fuel economy?

Also, if if the engine is brand new you will have to wait for the piston rings to seat for maximum cmpression.

Re: fuel milelage

I calculate by writing down how many gallons I put in it at the pump, then look at the mileage and do the math.Just before my 103,000 mile engine went I was getting like 16 to 18 mpg.I forgot to mention that when I got the new crate engine put in I also put on a cool air intake. What kind of milelage are you getting BlazerLT?

Re: fuel milelage

How long or I should say how many miles does it take to "break in" so to speak?

5000-10000 miles should be sufficient.

Stick to regular dino oil during the breakin period so the rings can seat properly.

Also, how old are the O2 sensors?

Re: fuel milelage

Funny how you should ask about the O2 sensors. When I bought the truck I went over it and checked out everything.I noticed the O2 sensors looked very new.The check engine light would come on and off from time to time.So I figured that someone was already there trying to track down something. When I bought my scanner I hooked it up and got a O2 sensor high voltage code(means it's running rich).I also had another code that I fixed and then deleted the stored codes in my computer.Since then I have had no other codes, thats why I'm asking about mileage.Just seems to be hard on gas. What do you mean by dino oil?

Re: fuel milelage

First of all, you don't have X-Ray version. So don't think you know their internal condition. It is not how they look on he outside, it is how they look inside the exhast pipe. The external part is stainless steel which is why is doesn't look like the rest of the parts.

So how about actually getting out there and removing them and seeing if they are brand new instead of the huge assumption that they are.

Re: fuel milelage

I know what your saying, but your not getting what I am saying. The sensors were clean and the wires that run from them. You could see where the new plug(clean)plugged into the dirty plug.Clean I say.Who would polish 02 sensors and wipe the wires clean and leave the rusty pipe?

Re: fuel milelage

Again, unscrew the O2 sensors and look at the ends that stick in the pipes and look for deposits.

Stops replying with bullshit on how you haven't done it. This is wearing on my nerves when you ask for help and then argue when I give it to you.
