Question Possible purchase

I just found a 1994 4-Runner for sale in my neighborhood. The truck has 128,000 miles on it and looks like it is in great shape. It is a v-6, 5-speed with every single option. I am concerned b/c consumer reports lists older 4-runners with the v-6 as unrealiable, but every post i have read in here, there only seems to be minor problems reported.

The truck is for sale for only $3,900, and the price has dropped seveal times, (they originally wanted over $7,000) but they are getting pretty desperate now. I know cars very well, but I don't know if I should buy this car b/c I have never owned a Toyota before, and I heard something about head gasket issues on these trucks. Can someone shed some light on this for me and tell me if they think I should jump on this truck or not.

ps. I could not find a used one this cheap and in this kind of condition anywhere.

Re: Possible purchase

Take it to a competent mechanic and tell him the story about the head gasket problems. Let him check it out for you.
