Question "Tweaking the computer/display"

I just checked out my buddies new beamer, and it has a center console display for navigation. He found a BMW forum that told him how to "hack" the computer to offer more options for the screen. He did it, and now has options for TV, where it has a built-in TV tuner! He hooked up a DVD player to it too...it's awesome! Does anyone know if the same can be done with the Nissan front display???

I specifically want to enable the front screen to be able to display the same DVD screen as the drop-down.
