1999 Sensor Problems
A Few Weeks Ago It Was O2 Rear Sensor, Dealer Said $525. To Replace But One Out Three Will Be Frozen In And The Rear Exhaust Manifold Will Have To Be Replaced $12oo. I Went To Local Mechanic He Replaced O2 Sensor No Problem $270. Now I Have Another Lite It Is Now Rear Air Fuel Ratio Sensor $570. And Dealer Says The Sensor Is Frozen $1200 Rear Exhaust Manifold Has To Be Replaced. This Time My Local Mechanic Said He Could Only Get A Few Turns And It Locked Up. Thinks Manufacturing Problem. Has Anybody Else Had Similar Problems? What Are Your Suggestions? Please Help.

Re: 1999 Sensor Problems
If it's original then it's probably approaching its end of life phase (75000-125000 miles) 90000 is about average and getting weak in the signal processing. If you notice your fuel mileage starting to go down that's another symptom. Over time the extra fuel burn caused by the faulty sensor reading can damage your catalytic converter.
