63 wipers

I'm wondering if someone can tell me when I should have power on the two wires going into the wiper motor. Unfortunately, our tech info only goes back to 82, and I would like to be sure I'm going after the right thing. There's nothing worse that selling a motor, when all it needs is a switch.

with ignition ON, and wiper switch ON, you should have power to the motor.

use a jumper wire to one of the terminals and see if that activates it. look for a ground on the motor elsewhere. if no ground is found, then one of the terminals might be a ground.(?) but, i believe one is HI speed, the other is LOW.

i'll see if i can find my books on that and double check for you.

Just in case this will help, there is a third blue wire connected to a copper strap running under a mounting bolt and into the wiper motor, which would have to be the ground. The two wires I mentioned at first are a brown wire with power when ignition is on, located on passenger side, and the other is yellow (toward driver's side) with no power and infinite resistance in any position. With both plugged back in, brown has 11.3v, yellow has 10.3v (battery v 11.9). Thanks for any help you can give. This guy has been bringing me this car (327/4sp) and his 69(427/400th), both of which are in exellent shape. I want to keep him happy!
