modified wrx vs 69 camaro

this happened sometime around summer.

mods on the wrx

main mods: 650cc injectors. t3/t4 hybrid turbo, front mount intercooler. boost was set at 14.5 psi at the time i raced, about 1 bar. dyno graph at the time showed that his all wheel horsepower was 301.1 at 18 psi, tq was somewhere around 260 i think, a lot less than hp. his power curve was pretty peaky, power/tq didnt really come in till around 5500 rpm, he still had to retune it. peak hp came in the upper rpm range like 6800rpm. i heard g tec wasnt that accurate, but i ran it on my friends g tec, and i got 13.2 at like 105 mph, 0-60 saids 5.0 sec. i had a friend in the car to, and remember this was at 14.5 psi, not 18 when i ran it on g tec. plus the tires barely had any tread, and the front wheels spun a lot(thats what my friends said).

camaro mods

i dont know what the camaro had, but it was black, had wide tires in the back, and skinny ones on the front. he had a passenger, and so did i.

the race

the race was at 30-80 mph. remember the boost was set at 14.5 psi.

i was comming to a stop at a light, and noticed a black 69 camaro. i looked over at the car, and then looked at the driver. he didnt look at me, so i didnt think he was gonna go, but when the light turned green, he chirped his tires, and took off like he was racing me. he didnt go too far, i guess he noticed that i didnt go. i floored the gas to catch up to him, and got right next to him. i looked over at him to see if he still wanted to go, he didnt really look at me, but i kept it in second gear at about 30mph just in case. i started to slowly drift ahead of him, like his front end got to the middle of my car, and i didnt think he was gonna go for a second, but then i saw his front end jump up getting next to me, and my friend was like go! i floored it right away, and i saw that he was even with me, but near the end of 2nd gear, i started to barely slowly pull ahead, happened really quick. then i quickly shifted to third, and started pulling ahead a little quicker. by the time i reached about 80 mph, his front bumper was at my rear bumper, then we had to slow down because we ran out of room. i thought the camaro was gonna beat me, but i barely got ahead. i didnt think this was a real full race, since we ran out of room, but it was still a race. would of been more exciting if i got to race him from a stop, but there was too much traffic.
