Shameful to be all show no go?

I have a 1995 Eclipse GS 5spd its bone stock. I currently have $2,200 to spend on it. I was thinking headlights, taillights, a CF hood, a full bodykit yada yada yada....since all that attracts ladies like flys to poo.

The thing is I would'nt have enough money for rims too. So I was wondering if I should go performance instead....which gets respect from the racing community. Maybe a little of both, but if anyone one has any recommendations im open to them.


P.S. I'm only 16 and still in highschool, this IS my first car, so put yourself in my shoes, if you were still in highschool would you make it a SpeedDemon or a Chick Magnet?. Also keep in mind I make less than $6.00/hour.

speeddemons ARE chick magnets. "show" will most likely just get you laughed at. DSMs are so easy and cheap to modify and make fast, I'd go with that.

cars with body kits and altezzas are NOT chick magnets, the parts companies just want you to think that. Especially when you're slow enough to get smoked by most minivans.

what most of you dont know is that bodykits will make your kit faster. especially big wings in the back. that is why integras own eclipses

you do have a point. Considering my miata will beat N/T DSM's If you dont want to make the car straight line fast, still dont waste your money on graphics and body kits and stuff. How about getting into autoX? Spend that $2200 on suspension and good wheels and tires. Even though they are FWD and heavy, I'm sure you could make them handle almost to par with my miata or rx-7 j/k

Hey Hpnotiq86, personally I think that you should do a 97-99 bumper and projector with halo headlight conversion. It will make your car look a lot nicer without making it look too flashy. You don't want to get into bodykits and rims because either you'll either have to worry about breaking your body kit while driving or having your car stolen because it's too flashy. Anyway your still 16, you don't want a car that's too fast because you'll just end up crashing it and maybe hurting yourself. Keep the GS and have fun with it. Save up later on and then get the GSX when your more mature behind the wheel.

check this just save your money, your still young no bills right? then sell your car buy a bus pass for a couple of months then go out and buy yourself a gst or gsx, then you won't have to worry about having a stock car because a gst or gsx are faster than most stock cars then you could do what ever you want with your car and not worry about not having the speed to back it up, or you could just find a chick with a gst or gsx then you won't need a car for the chicks, do that and you'll be alright

dude, make it a good looking car. there is only a couple things you can do to make a GS a little faster anyways.

get a CAI off EBAY

go to a custom exhaust shop and get a full 2.5'' cat back pipe bent and put some kind of muffler on it.

get some OBX headers

get NGK bpr5es [i'm 99% sure] spark plugs

that should take care of ya in the power department at a pretty low cost. you will sound good too

as far as doing bodykit work, just realize that you have to do painting too, and that is where most of the $$ will end up. i'm not too hot on tails and headlights, i really like the ones we got already. look in my sig at either link, on the FAQ scroll down till you find the ''how to remove the ambers out of the headlights'' and it is also on page 2 of the other link. that gives a really nice look to our lights.

CF hood is a nice touch, if you are a racer. it's mostly a weight saver. it does look nice on certain color cars though. i will leave that up to you if you can afford it.



oh and i was pimping chicks in a primered 67 VW bus with no 4th gear [top speed about 35mph ]

for your tails search on here for painted altezzas. shypder made a couple nice looking sets of altezzas clearcoated red so they look less rice

lol omg lol omg lol u meen like this ? thats my acura i still own and body kit sure didnt get me any faster and also i dont drive this anymore because honda are slower then a turbo dsm ... and butt much spoilers only help aroun 160 MPH wich if i recall no hondas besides the nsx and s2000 go past so peace and eat my back draft biatch
