wants to stall

My 92 cherokee laredo has started to stumble at freeway speeds and has now stalled once when coming to a stop. I have recently changed the plugs, fuel filter, oil and filter, air filter and added fuel injector cleaner. It seemed to fix the problem until yesterday. It started stumbling again around 55mph and engine was warmed up. Giving it more gas kept it from stalling completely. After stallling it will restart immediately but runs a little rough until moving again. Anyone have a good idea what it could be? Any help is much appreciated!

Re: wants to stall

You may have a vacuum leak somewhere. Check all the lines, especially around the air box. Autozone.com has a good diagram.

check your ccv lines running out to and/ or from your valve cover, had this problem once, would be on highway, evertime i slowed to turn engine cut out, after trying lots of other things found these ccv lines were clogged up with oil and residue, cleaned em out and voila no more stalling

You may try replacing the coil, especially if you have problems with it after it gets hot... it will usually weaken with time, and sometimes the casing cracks and shorts it out, especially noticeable when hot. Actually, I would try the Idle Air Control Valve first. It only interferes with the idle speed until you get back into the gas again. I have had one get carbon built up in it and it quit working properly
