It's a little parasite that infects animals. It basically eats away the hair on their bodies. Dogs get it sometimes. The dog I live with had it when she was a few months old. It was all around her eyes. Just had to take her and get dipped at the vet a few times and it was gone. If it is prolonged it can be bad though.
