Lights
Hey guys I know its been asked a few times but little diff here ive got a 90 accord and i wanna make my bumper lights as a fog on its own without having any other lights also using a regular headlight bulb so that it can be very bright on but the problem here is that i cant shut my headlights off unless i turn off the car and put the ebrake on so even if i turn on parking lights it doesnt make a diff in my car its the same all day long how can i make this work
and also shouldn't all the lights shut off when i pull the ebrake thanks guys |

Re: Lights
Be careful when changing the size of the bulb. If you are referring to the parking lights, the wire that supplies these lights is fairly small. To increase the wattage, you might melt the wire and wire harness. Honda designs their wiring very carefully and does not allow for changing to greater current devices. Your best bet is to wire directly from the battery and use a relay to turn the lights on and off.

I gonna take a wild guess and say you don't live in the US...most likely you have daytime running lights and this is the reason they are on all the time...get a manual and find out which fuse controls the DRL's and pull it...your headlights should work normally with this fuse pulled they just won't be on unless the switch is on.
As far as the bumper lights go unless you wire them directly to a switch then they will not be on by themselves only...what some people do is wire them to the park lights so that they are on but still flash as turn signals. to do this just wire them to the outer bulb on the corner marker (e.g. the one that is on with park and flashes with turn)

also if you put a 55W or higher bulb in the bumper lights it will most likely melt the housing i wouldn't try it.
