Completed: Mach 1 conversion. Check it out! Lots of pics

well, i finally got this one finished. It started out as the Revell 1999 Mustang Cobra kit. the major part of the conversion took place on the hood, and building the shaker. The mods include:

Custom built hood
Shaker (kit bashed AMT 69 Mach 1 for the top portion)
Pegasus 23" T's
Pegasus 19" brakes
Scratch build front lip
scrath built rear wing
added the white strip on the front seats

all in all i beleive this bulid took about 5 weeks. Most of the time was spent waiting on parts to arrive through mail order. I've snapped quite a few pics, so enjoy and let me know what you think. I know its not a skyline but hey.

and a link to the progress for those who want it. http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=284156

Excellent conversion! The shaker came out great!
I might be wrong, but doesn't the Mach 1 have a solid, live-axle in back?
Nevertheless, I like the new lower control arms!
The rear wing looks spot on too.

Re: Completed: Mach 1 conversion. Check it out! Lots of pics

yeah. the full scale mach has the solid rear axle, not the IRS. i wasn't aware of that until it was too late. Me and a friend of mine have dubbed it a rod race mach 1!! lol. yeah i know 23's on a muscle car is rediculous..but the look soooo good.

Awesome......Only one itty bitty problem, I think the hood stripe is too narrow...other than that, it's perfect. And I'm a die-hard Mach 1 fan.

Project '03 Cobra starts next week, as soon as the Agent Orange Viper has wheels

Re: Completed: Mach 1 conversion. Check it out! Lots of pics

the reason the hood stripe looks too narrow was i had originally planned on doing the pin-stripe that follows just outside of the solid black. It meets up with the outside edge of the hole for the shaker. but i decided that i wasn't skilled enough for that yet. I might take another stab at a Mach 1 later on down the road. right now i have tons of prjects in the works. I am finishing up a dodge ram vts (the one with the viper motor) that me and my little brother started on years ago, i've got the 88 stang (waiting on reference pics) the 71 charger, the 69 mach, and yesterday i picked up a revell 67 Chevelle ss 396 (california wheels edition), and i've got my dodge ram d-50 viper powered
