Ok guys, I really need your help with this one. I was checking for some new wheels to go on my baby and I found that the ADR Sterling 18x8.5 (chrome finish) would really be a nice choice. The problem is about the damn offset, it's a huge 38mm which I'm affraid will not give enough caliper clearance for our cars. Is there any way to determine if theese wheels would fit on my 3000GT or not ? I tried E-mailing ADR Wheels (www.adrwheels.com) but didn't get answered :-(.
Is there any of you out there currently running such offsets or I am quite off the track hoping to get such a set-up on my car ? What about spacers, anyone ever tried those things out before ? A local wheel/tire shop told me that spacers can be dangerous because the rim is not directly attached to the wheel bearing. Anyone heard about that ? |

You shouldn't need any spacers for that. Those rims should fit just fine (18 X 8.5 is the stock size for the 96+ VR4s)

I'm affraid you can't compare the stock rims of a VR-4 with the ones I have in mind. The ADR Stelrings 18x8.5 have a huge 38mm offset and as long as I know, the stock rims on my 3000GT have absolutely no offset. All the difference is about the offset because it makes the wheel spokes go 'inside' (towards the caliper).

I dont know much about offset but if thats true then what the hell kinda car are they supposed to fit? I mean any performace car will have big ass calipers. and yeah I do not suggest getting spacers, I've seen two guys loose thier wheels at the race course, both had spacers.....coincedence? maybe not
dude the best thing I can suggest is to stroll over to your local wheel shop, ask em to bring out a set with an offset like the ones you bought and then test fit them. good luck.
