Cool Stall 1997 Pontiac Bonneville

I’m new to the forum and would like to extend my appreciation to the wonderful people and there ideas. My 1997 Pontiac Bonneville stall (totally shut down, power steering and all) at any speed. Does anybody as solution to this problem? Dealership, mechanics and witch doctors have tried to fix this problem.

Re: Stall 1997 Pontiac Bonneville

My wife's last bonnie did this and we spent almost $2,000 trying to fix it and I finally fixed it myself. It was the dang FUEL PUMP RELAY. It never did it again. Not that this is your problem but it sure is worth a try.

Re: Stall 1997 Pontiac Bonneville

sounds like the crank position sensor to me. It's a fairly common problem on 3800 engines, and will cause the problems you are having.

Thumbs up

Thanks for the info. I'm going to change the fuel pump relay first to determine whether it is the solution or not. Then I would go on to something else.
