No Dash backlight after installing new stereo!

Hi,
I installed a new Sony CDX-F5500 CD/MP3 stereo head unit in my Peugeot 306 yesterday. The stereo works fine and the car drives well, but I don't have a back light on my dash board / instrument panel, or clock. The existing wiring for the old (standard) head unit in the car has got a wire for the back light, but the Sony head unit doesn't have an input for it. I assume this is why the back light isn't working.

Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this problem?

Sounds like it.... maybe you would have more luck posting in the 306 forum - as this is the 205 forum.
