I need to take out the stock cassette/am/fm stereo in my 2000 Silverado and replace it with a stock CD/am/fm stereo. Is this complicated, I dont want to tear up my dash and was not sure how difficult the wiring would be? Does anyone have experience or advice?

Stock to custom was simple so I don't know why stock to stock wouldn't be simpler. The nice thing is the whole unit is snapped into place and comes out quite easily once you get the facia off.

Re: How to Install Stock CD Player
Ok dude. You start by first setting the emergency brake, turning the key on, and pulling the shift lever into 1. You then remove the outer dash by popping it of a little at a time (this is the piece around the outside of the dash) After you do this, you press the clips on either side of the radio to slide it out. Unhook the factory harness and antenna wire and then to install, just reverse order w/the cdplayer! If I did not make any sense, tell me and I'll try to make it clearer.
