Matrix AWD

Did anyone here go through last winter with a Matrix awd in a snow belt region ? How was the traction without snow tires ?

Re: Matrix AWD

i assume it'd be average with all-season and better with snow tires...if there was actually snow on the ground

Re: Matrix AWD

In Canada Snows are a must(outside of Toronto anyway).
At the plant we drive Corolla and Matrix off the line all day but I will tell you that when an AWD comes ,we know it.
Under estimated for HP it has more torque than the Std Matrix. It will pull better with snows.

I may sound like a dad , cause I am , but.
It may go fast in the snow but it still takes the same distance to stop. If you know what I mean.

Re: Matrix AWD

I bought the car for the wife. We like it....but ! Shadow Mica is hard to keep clean and the clear coat is very thin. Scratches & chips easily ! Shows everything. Poor quality paint. I'll have to keep it waxed and put a mask (bra) on the front. Ya have to remember ...these cars ain't built in Japan !-Having said that, there is so much to like about it...I had to have one. Four Dunlop Graspic's on 15'ers and she'll be set.

Re: Matrix AWD

The Toyota Dealers in my area touch up the paint for free when they do an oil change.
Just ask.

P.S. Our Manufacturing plant has won 2 Gold plant awards for Quality. FYI.
