Ok...the MAJOR difference is exactly that....sedan vs wagon.
Not a significant difference from performance standpoint
(although some will go on and on about minutia).

You either like sedan or wagon styling, and it would just come down
to that. Personally, I can't imagine myself driving a wagon, so I have
a sedan, but it's just personal preference and I have nothing against those who like wagons.

Re: what to get

I vote wagon! And yes, it's a station wagon. That makes it even cooler when I blow the friggin' doors off the Honda next to me. Plus, I can carry my bicycle in the back without taking the wheel off. I can take a collapsable tent thingy, four wheels/tires, air pump, power drill (lug nuts quickly), socket set, toolbox, cones, lunch, and all the various other sundry stuff I need/want for an autocross in the same car with my wife and three friends who want to co-drive the WRX but aren't going to get the opportunity.

The sedan does, however, come with a slightly stiffer sway bar (you were probably going to upgrade that anyway, though) and the ability to mount slightly wider tires. I still bought the wagon. Now all I'm waiting for is the STi wagon.

Re: what to get

wagon is cheaper on insurance and its just cool to smoke people with a station wagon. if you go with the wagon spend at least $20-$30 on a sedan rear sway bar, HUGE improvement. Sedans are everywhere

Re: what to get

Plus, it comes with a little wing, which I think looks pretty cool.

Re: what to get

Well, the undisputed hierarchy of cool Subarus is thus:

Brat > Coupes > Wagons > Sedans > Baja

So, since Subaru decided not to make a GD coupe, your choice is simple.

edit for clarification: Foresters count as wagons.
