Body Molding
hey does anyone know the process of molding a body kit, or lip kit in my case, to the bumper to make it look smooth and all like one bumper? I've heard fiberglass resin is the best stuff to use, but i need a step by step process if anyone knows where there is one online (i.e. a site that shows step by step on how to do it) or if anyone knows personally how to do it. Is it something i can do myself or should i just take it to a body shop to do? Also of course i don't wanna spend huge amounts of money on something this small. Thanks in advance for any help.

Re: Body Molding
ok ive never used the fiberglqass resin but i have used bondo and that seemd to do the job but its a lot of work and it might cost a little more than you would expect,
first sand down the parts that you want molded, mix bondo body filler with red hardener, mix it up untill it comes out to be light pink, apply bondo to sanded areas using a squeegy (the one that comes with the bondo or ask the guy at the auto parts store, sand it down till it is farely smooth, get your self some water sand paper, (COLOUR SAND PAPER) water sand it down till it is smooth as your original finish and primer it and paint it, this is something that someone who knows how to do it would be of help. if you have any friends that have done body work on cars or something it would help alot. if you are not like me and are not interested in getting dirty with your car, than take it to a body shop and get a big ass price that im sure no one can afford.............. but please dont try it if you dont understand the process. . . . . . . . heave someone else do it for you. i hope i could of helped

Okay, I might n ot know the process of molding body lines or a kit prefactly, but I do know, DO NOT USE BONDO!!!!
It will crack, guarenteed. Bondo is ment to fill small little dings and dents (though pulling/pounding them old the old fashioned way is a better idea). Bondo is not ment to mold parts, it can't be used vry deep before it cracks. If you mold anything with it, it WILL crack, it WILL break, and it WILL look VERY NASTY. It may look good at first, but give it time and it will turn to complete sh*t. I have heard kicker and others that do a lot of body work say use Duraglass. I know someone who would know this all, but he's hard to get ahold of, very hard. If I can I will ask him. However, I do know don't use Bondo!!! If you have someone do it for you, make sure they don't use bondo!!!
