18's rubbing

hey i gotta 02 mitsu lancer oz rally and i got 18x7.5 on them and they kinda rub ... question is the manuel says offset is 46mm and my wheels offset is 42mm is that correct? also my tire size is 225/40/18.

the 18x7.5 wheel with a 42mm offset is a perfect fit on your lancer the problem is the tire size.

here's the simple explanation
original size
195/60-15 has a diameter of 24.2"
size you have now
225/40-18 has a diameter of 25"
if you had the right size
215/35-18 has a diameter of 24.0"
