Will a 2.2 five speed work with a 2.4 ?

I just recently bought a 98 chevrolet cavalier Z24 with a five speed transmission. The trans is shot, synchros and bearings are bad. I have two choices, re-build or junk yard. I'm doing all of the work myself and know what I am doing, but am new to these cars. I found a N.O.S (new old stock) transmission on Ebay that says it's an izusu transmission that will work with the 96-98 2.2 liter engines, but not the quad four. I believe that mine is a twin cam. Are the bellhousing patterns and input shafts the same on the trans ? Will this trans work in my car ?
