Question best struts for the money..

i have a 2001 cavalier 2.2 and i want to order a set of 1.5" lowering springs and im trying to get some reviews or past experiences with struts. my car has 57k miles and i was wondering if maybe i wouldnt have to change the struts just yet... any feedback would be great. thanks.

Re: best struts for the money..

Read the important note up at the top on how to lower your car the right way... That should tell you everything you need to know.. when people tell you they put lowering springs on stock struts ...come on, there going to blow in a matter of time. Majority of people they say they haven't blown yet...actually have gotten use to the shitty ride quality and think its nothing. I've been there b4 and not gona lie.... i use to have dropzones on stock struts. HOly shit, never do that nor buy their springs.. My curent setup i think to me is very nice.. 1.5" drop all the way around and i have the GR-2 KYB's... which are under warrenty if they blow since i haven't gone below that mark... But you also have to realize that the lower you go, the more stress on the cv joints there is and the crappier the ride gets..its up to you.. read the Note on top before you make up your mind, it will help you in the long run.

I got the kyb agx's this past friday and i love them even with stock struts. i autocross alot and today i cot it out on the track and wow! i could keep pace with acr neons and mini cooper S's. they are adjustable and i am able to take the car from a plush ride to a sports car stiff ride. with settings at 2 in the front and 7 in the rear it is great on a wet track. it pushes a bit in some sections but has a bit of oversteer in others, and still remains under control. but when the track started drying out i should have changed the front setting to 3 but i was unsure and paied the price i went from 5 in class to 7th out of 19 cars in TGS. If you plan on going lower than 1.5 then i say koni yellow.

Re: best struts for the money..

Advanved auto parts... i found a quote online and they matched the price..so i got all 4 of them for 241 bucks... not bad... but i don't plan to autocross and what not... i just don't want the 4x4 look it use to have.. Also to be able to have the drift kit on my car next summer....
