Question Heater Knob

I have a 95 Grand am Quad 4. My heater knob broke, its the one inside that you turn to select air or heat. I just need to know where to find a new one. Thanks for any help.

Re: Heater Knob

Call a dealer. If they can't help then call the local wrecking yard they should be able help you at minimal cost probably a couple of bucks.

Re: Heater Knob

LOL, same thing happened to mine. Middle knob that controls how hot the air is, the inside snapped. Now i just switch my knobs around when i wanna adjust the temp. I'd say your best bet is going to a junk yard, its near to nothing for a set of knobs if they have them.

One of my knobs snapped off just after we purchased our Grand Am and I was able to find a replacement from the Pontiac dealership for around $4 or $5. Cheap!!

Or if you have some 2 part epoxy laying around just stick the metal insert back into the center of the knob, fill in the empty spaces near the center of the knob with the epoxy-clamp it so the crack is closed and let it set.

Did this to mine and its worked since.

Re: Heater Knob

any hardware store, some grocery stores stock it.. Comes in clear, black and cream color. Theres like 2 ton epoxy, 5 minute epoxy and so on.

Just make sure not to fill the center hole of course or it wont fit back on once it dries its some hard stuff.

But if you can get the new knobs for $5-6 the epoxy will cost you that much.
