Question about supercharging my 3000GT

I have a 1999 base 3000GT with the 211 Horse engine. I would like to get great performance without buying a new car and loan note. I am looking for recommending to get more horses through supercharging or other alternatives. If you can offer me a recommendation, do you have a website or magazine to research this topic?

Thanks,

Rage

That site is for an internet investment company lol. You were probably thinking of www.3si.org or www.3sxperformance.com.

From what I know, supercharging it'll give u instant boost, but turbos'll give u tons of it... umm I'm actually thinking about supercharging myself, u can either go for the knight version, or the ripp mods (assuming ripp has one made for DOHC engines). Hope this helps, and here's the knight website...

Re: Question about supercharging my 3000GT

You cant twin turbo a base without going custom, so its kinda pointless due to the expence. Titan bending (formerly JAC engineering) is considering making manifolds for the SOHC that will use stock turbos and exhaust parts making it the simplest and cheepest way to boost a SOHC. Right now I would go the RIPP supercharger route if I was going to boost a SOHC.

I have been researching the Supercharger for these cars since june of 2003 and I can honestly tell you. I have not yet seen a single person run the Knight supercharger succesfully, I tried contacting them dirrectly and they where very effortfull in avoiding all my technical questions. the 99 base is a SOHC with about 160 hp how you got it up to 211 is worth an explanation.
the best kit for that car will be a RIPP mods SOHC kit, its safe, powerfull and proven to work. Ripp has been running this set up at the tracks and setting records since October of last year. its the same kit that goes on the v6 eclipse.

The stories I heard originally came from some dude on 3si.org who mentioned that the SC will only run for a few months untill the piggieback fails.....apparently Knight dosent tune the ecu's very well. that was just something I heard. then there was the "fitment issue". I thought it ment the thing would not fit under the hood too. so I took a little trip to Southflorida Performance (the boosthead site says to contact them far a dyno chart) I heard mr. knight went there to tune his stuff and figured they would know his product well....they did. the response I got was "well I dont know if it fits under the hood or not, we never got to install a single one! they just dont bolt up to the engine right, you need to machine a bunch of stuff to get it bolt into the throttle body and the motor." so I put out a word for anyone who had bought a kit and found one guy who bought two, the first ran for about a month (he spend 3 months at a machine shop to fit it in and yes he had to moddify the hood too) the sc blew his motor he says so he rebuilt the motor and Knight send him a second kit, this time the pulleys would not line up and he got fed up and ended up selling it on e-bay. I went straight to the source since I only live like an hour away from knight, he would not see me without an appointment, he avoided my calls for a month and never answered any of my 7 e-mails!

Re: Question about supercharging my 3000GT

Ya, Eddie and I talked about it last night, it seems that the only real path to go for supercharging would be the RIPP mods one, so if u have a DOHC base engine, than I guess ur fu**** ... comicrage how'd u get your 99 base up to 211HP?
