what should i do to my camaro....

Aright i have a 95 camaro z28 with 115,000 miles on her...i want more power but i dont know what i should do...i was thinking on rebuilding it since it has so many miles on it but rebuilds arent cheap...i was looking at stroker kits but i dunno...and i wanted to try and do the work myself but im not a mechanic...i was looking at turbos and yeah sure lots of power but....with 115,000 on my car already i dont think it could handle it...another options a new motor but thats not really much more power...what do you guys think i should do? and how hard is a stroker rebuild is it something i could handle?

Hypsi , what kind of buick do you have ?

NOS it instead , Supercharging is only usefull for huge engines.

Re: what should i do to my camaro....

Rebuilding an engine into a 383 stroker takes a lot of time and perfection , grinding or notching the crank. Either way if your not a mechanic , I don't suggest doing any of the work yourself. You might end up ruining the engine before you even start it. If you go with kit engines , you still have to install a distributor shaft and the rotation set up and then set that to timing. I'd recomend getting a crate 383 stroker with like 450 HP and take it to a shop , pay them like 200 bucks to put it in.

for that year of the car having that many miles on it , it must be driven hard and a lot. My 305 before I took it out had 146K on it and it was a 92 so I don't think going with turbos would be a hot idea either. You need intercooler , exhaust that can handle it , different injectors , etc..
You can get a engine premade with over 400 hp ( a 350 gm motor as well aside from 383 or a 512 hp 396. ) all over the place for about the same price it would take to put turbos into that thing. But then again if you want the cool wooshing sound like Hypsi has then go for it but..see you along side of the road with hazards on.

it's got like an hour left on it , you can go with a short block as well. That way when you build it up you know what you got , you see it for yourself and you can pick the parts you want on it. It's easy to assemble an engine that way. Just not when you get into areas like crank and valves. You should be ablke to handle mounting heads , headers , I-manifold , oil pain.
