4 Rears in 3 Years! Help!!!
This will be the fourth time now in just over 3 years that the rear on my 00 Trans AM will need servicing. The pinion seals keep breaking and it drains and the car sounds like a plane driving around. It is actually "chugging" this time around so I can imagine the damage done to the internals. I am getting fed up with it. The car is out of warranty but since there is a history of this problem for this car, can anything be done without having to pay for it to be "fixed" again? The car has been babied its whole life and just turned 40k. What are my options? I checked the link in one of the other posts but Pennsylvania is not included. Any advice? Thanks for your time. Re: 4 Rears in 3 Years! Help!!!
The place that is installing it is probably over torqueing the yoke and damaging the seal. Your suppose to use a breaker bar to adjust it then measure with torque wrench but most shops use a impact wrench which makes it almost impossible to adjust in small amounts.
