Do you have any Credit Cards?

I just got my first one, it's an addition to my parent's Upromise account for me, basically for overnight school trips and the like.

blur or black out all sensitive information

Re: Do you have any Credit Cards?

I have two. One is for fuel because it saves me money and the other one is for airline tickets rental cars hotels and shit like that. I never actually buy stuff with them though. I use my debit card for that. Credit card debt is very bad most people I know with them are in debt up to their ears becuase they cannot control their spending.

Between my wife and I, we have seven. Total credit limit is just short of a quarter million dollars. Our monthly balance is zero. We charge everything and then pay it all off at the end of the month. Between the cash back and the air miles, its a great deal and I'd advize anyone to take advantage of it, BUT it requires the self control to only buy what you would anyway (no extra purchasing) and pay it off ON TIME.

Re: Do you have any Credit/Debit Cards?

I'm kind of a "pay it now and get it over with" type of person. So all I have is a Visa Debit card and that's all I'm gonna have. If I don't have any money in the bank and I wanna buy something, too bad. So, I'm staying away from credit cards. But I sure love how I can order shit off the internet with my Visa Check Card. And when you use the machines at the stores, you can select Credit instead of Debit. If you select Credit, then all you have to do is sign a piece of paper. You don't have to put in your pin code.

Only have 3 credit cards. But I do as Yogs does and pay it off each month. Smartest thing to do with a credit card there is.

As a student I have a Debit card from the bank with an interest free overdraft limit of £1400 (none used yet, just in case). I have a Credit card which I use instead of the Debit card as I get a good deal with Airmiles which means I can pay for the flights to mainland europe for racing (occasionally!). And im about to take out a 2yr loan to pay for a new car with an apr of 6.4% (again...dont you just love student rates?!) I was going to use the overdraft but I figured Id rather keep that for unplanned things like if i need a new comp for uni or car repairs and pay the £95 a month for the car... I reckon my dad has about 8/9 CC's. A friends dad also has about that with a combined credit limit of about £1/4million. Hmm, terminally ill and no living relatives...what would you do with it?!!! I just got a credit card to help build my credit. It makes spending way too easy, but I manage to pay it off every month.

Just got a mastercard with a whopping $500 limit Mainly to pay for online purchases, unused so far

Being a tertiary student, I also got a few of those interest free overdrafts (signed up with every bank that offered them) - also unused so far and will stay that way, but it's nice to know theres a few grand of interest-free financing available if shit ever hits the fan.

I'm with Yogs. If you have a measure of self control and pay your balances off before incurring interest, they're great to have. I personally have made close to $30.00 off of my credit card company. HA! Suckas!

Re: Do you have any Credit/Debit Cards?

All I have is a debit card, being as I'm a college student. Serves me well right now, so I don't really see a need to get a credit card just yet.
