Question 2002 Tahoe sometimes hesitates on me

I was wondering if I should be really worried about my 2002 Tahoe hesitating on me. I only have about 45K miles on it. It doesn't happen everyday, but maybe once every two weeks. It will hesitate on me when I take off from a stop. The feeling I get is like someone holding the vehicle and then just letting it go. I've tried pin pointing it to a specific circumstance, but there doesn't seem to be one. It will happen when I've been driving a while or even after I first drive it for the day. It's happened in all tempetatures as well. I don't see a pattern with it. It has been going on for over a year. It was every now and then in the beginning, but now I notice it more often. I do tow a heavy load of hay once a month and I always have it on tow/haul. What could this problem be?

i have an older 96 tahoe, i have had similar problems, easiest thing to check is your brakes, best I remember is that the calipers get stuck in the closed position, when you beging moving the rotors begin to turn which can help snap the calipers back into position, if your rotors and pads are within acceptable limits you may need your caliper system cleaned thoroughly and amply lubed.

Haven't found the solution yet. Keep me updated if you get the solution first! I was going to check into the last reply. Made some sense, but I don't think it happens everytime I'm coming off a brake or stop.

Re: 2002 Tahoe sometimes hesitates on me

I had similar symptoms with my 2002 Suburban. I thought it was a tranny problem but dealer diagnosed low fuel pressure getting to the engine and it turned out to be a clogged fuel strainer on the fuel pump. The had to drop the tank to clean it. Problem solved.
