need a transmission for a 96 GL

i have a 96 manual golf that has a slightly mess up transmission-
i was wondering if anybody has either a transmission that will work with car- or some parts for one-
also does anybody know what other years and makes of volkswagens
have interchangable transmissions?
i would also like to find a junk car-a 96 or somethin close
