climate controls and dash lights
alright when i put in my stereo we accidentally cut the ground wire before some of the others and it blew a fuse for my dome light and other interior lights. I replaced the fuse and my tach light and my dome light work but my climate control lights and dash lights still dont work. I checked all the fuses in the fuse box. I checked the bulb in the climate controls and its good. But I dont wanna tear apart the dash if the bulb isnt blown. Are there any other fuses for the dash and climate controls bulbs? Or what otehr things could be wrong?

Re: climate controls and dash lights
Well, try different fuses of the same voltage cause some are just crap when they're made. But it seems likely that you'll have to replace the lights behind the cluster. Not to hard at either. Actually, it's easier to do than the climate controls. Also, make sure that you redid the ground wire good enough.

Re: climate controls and dash lights
i think there's a fuse in the bunch of wires behind the radio and climate control area. i blew that one once touching metal and metal together. so check all the wires to see if there's a plastic bulb with the fuse in it.

Re: climate controls and dash lights
I checked the climate controls bulb and its fine but I cant get it to turn into the socket so its just sitting in the socket and the fuse thats in the wiring of the stereo is fine. I replaced the fuse that is supposed to be for the dash lights and taillights (taillights still worked) and it didnt do any good. Could the bulb for the dash be connected with the climate controls? And I checked the ground wire its connected good, and plus if it wasnt the stereo wouldnt work right? And whats the easiest way to replace the bulb for the dash? Do I take the whole dash off? My service manual says I have to remove the steering wheel?!

Re: climate controls and dash lights
Do you mean the cluster lights? You don't have to take off the steering wheel. Just use a pen magnet or magnetic screwdrivers to get the screws out of the hood close to the windshield. It's not that difficult. I tried to find out where the fuse link was for the climate controls but I'm stumped on that one too.

Re: climate controls and dash lights
alright I took off the thing that goes around the cluster today but i was running outta time (had to go to work, so I put it back, but that was easy to take off. Ill take off the dash tomorrow and check the bulbs. But if the bulbs are fine do u think it may be wiring with the stereo? There were 3 wires we didnt know how to hook up on both sides of the harnesses (3 from the stereo and 3 from the cars wiring). Ill go and check what colors the wires are that arent connected to anything tomorrow and ill try to get some pics.

Re: climate controls and dash lights
It could be the wiring... There are 4 bulbs in the Si cluster and the one that is at about the 55mph point is stubborn in my ride. Sometimes it just won't light up all the way and I get all pissed and start tapping the hell out of my cluster. Sometimes that works but not always. I found out a lot about the cluster set up cuz I got fed up with that bulb and took it apart. The bulbs fit into grooves and those grooves are hardwired into a metal circuit on the backside of the cluster. I'm not too familiar with board circuitry type stuff. I just made sure the bulbs were tight and put it back. I noticed a lot of my wires all over the car have those grey spots every few inches. Anyway, sometimes the bulb doesn't come on right away (usually in moist weather). I'm so tired of it. I'm really considering replacing the whole cluster with a stock Si unit, because I have a feeling that when the white face paper gauge faces were put in by whoever they didn't exactly line the needles up so everything seems just a tad off. Anyway, as far as the climate control lights, try following the wires as far as you can.
