Angry Please Help

I have a 94 V6 camaro. My car dies when Idle. It will start back up. Also when I am driving at 45-50 mph the rpms drop to 1 or sometimes 2 and gets stuck there you have to let off the gas and press the gas again to move the rpms while driving then it will drop back down and get stuck quick. What can this problem be.. Can someone please help.

Thanks

Herb

Re: Please Help

I don't think the tranny will make it die in idle...
Look for some vacuum leaks first

Re: Please Help

No Service engine light? If there is no ses light it may be fuel related.

Re: Please Help

Take it to checkers they can scan it for free. Sounds like it may be running in limp home mode.

Re: Please Help

Might have a idle control valve in the tranny that may be screwing up , Mine holds at about 4k sometimes and won't do anything until I let off and remash.

Had mine looked at and it needs replacement. But I have a 92 so yours will probably more than mine will be but I got estimated at 35 dollars for the labor if I get the part myself.
