Top Speed test (vid)

Today I went out to test my new car on the German Autobahn and it was quite a good run! I managed to hit 230km/h on the speedo! over 7500rpm with that speed! we had to scream to talk to each other
I know the speedo isn't completely accurate but still I thought it was pretty impressive. The car felt relatively stable at that speed, more stable than my old hatch at 200km/h! But I'm not going to make a habit out of this, I just wanted to know what this car was capable of
The passenger tried to get it all on film so go and have a look

http://home.wanadoo.nl/ee9/4gdownloads/civicvtrun1.avi (2.5mb)

p.s You can't really read the speedo but the last digit on it is 240 (just so you can "read" the speedo on the vid)

Damn cool video, bracer!:bandit: 230km/h is a lot and it´s even possible that you really drove that fast IMO!
I haven´t done a top-speed test with my Prelude yet.

the Autobahn is only 10min. away

Did you go to Zandvoort yesterday? and did you run your car?
40 Euro for a couple of sprints, pretty expensive if you ask me.
But offcourse you don't have to compete.
What kind of cars where there?

Nah I didn't went to Zandvoort, but it was on the news yesterday on SBS6
"6 In het Land" thay had a interview with the organiser and some drivers.
There were alot of VW GTI there, and I saw some REXes racing against each other

The reporter asked one guy if he liked the "legal" drag races on a track
and if they were going to race again "illegal"
He answered with the following comment: "Yes, but with caution" then he began to laugh

I think he was driving a VW GTI

Last night me and AccordCE8 were at our local race scene hang-out
Nothing going on much, just guys driving around in there cars
Now and then holding a race against each other
The higlight of the evening was a race between a CRX and a VW GTI
And who won???...............of course the CRX

Later I was standing next to a Opel GSI 2.0 at the traffic lights
I did not win because of the lack of power
I was hanging in there real close, but we both wanted to get to the McDonalds, so I had to let him take the left turn before me, otherwise he had to go straight ahead.

Do you mean that peace of highway in Germany when you drive past Hengelo?
Thats not a good part to drive I think.
The road is constructed of loose concrete platforms, every 20 or so I feel
like I'm going over a speedbump.

But then again it could be my car

No, I mean from hengelo 2 almelo... the last piece of highway. Regularly there are very few cars so it's possible to reach about 200 there (in my car)

The piece in germany is indeed very bumpy, always like it 2 drive to index or so, speeding! or just for fun going there on a saturday : )
