You would see more results if it was a manual because you can really get them RPMs high up there, but you should be able to see some power gains with an automatic. It is a short ram intake, which isn’t much to start with, especially if it’s a no name brand. Expensive intakes aren’t only expensive because of the name on them, it’s the tubing that counts and what kind of bends it has. But, this shouldn’t matter because yours is a short ram. All I have to say is enjoy the sound.

Re: Short Ram Intake Help

You wont notice any power gains(3-5hp at the crank...definantly not noticeable unless you waste your money dynoing it). You will get slightly better gas mileage and a louder tone as was said. No intake is substantially better than any other, $30 or $200, all you are paying for is a name brand and a sticker to put on your window. The filters are moderately better with name brands...but only moderatly...IMO not worth an extra $170.

[quote=EddieBrock]Not to crap on any ones post but, the difference between good SRI and a cheap POS is not the bends in the pipe, but the filter.

Many people that buy an AEM intake especially on accords 94-97 have to change the filter because its pretty cheap and brakes off. This cheap filter comes for the most well known and the best intake maker on the market. Many people after they get and AEM intake don’t even bother putting it on with its filter, instead buy a better one for 30 bucks, and these intakes we're talking about cost $180-250.

Re: Short Ram Intake Help

Quoting you enrages you?

And yes, APC is the Volkswagen of car parts. Avoid them like fat chicks with facial hair!!!!!!!! I've seen only a couple of APC parts that are in good condition/quality.

And yes, for the Integra you're not going to notice a difference between the generic and the brand-name. Just as long as the filter isn't made by Uncle Cletis Parts Co. you should be fine.

really? people throw their filters away? give it to me then. aem don't use cheap filters, thier filters are from k&n, the only difference is that they remove the k&n logo and is replaced with aem. also the tubing is made out of powder coated alluminum to help dissipate and resist heat from warming up the air being inducted. in california the smog sticker is also very helpful, the police can't give u a ticket or tell u to remove ur sri or cai.

heres my opinion, if u live in a state where smog regulations is very strict get a carb approved intake such as aem, my buddy has been trying to borrow mine for the longest for his smog test because he has a home made version .

k&n filters do not come from aem. who ever told u this is a bunch of crock, k&n is a company who specializes in filters and was here long before aem. instead of designing their own filter, all aem did was implemented the design from best in the market which is from none other than k&n. hhmmm do u even have an intake filter from aem? i know i do, and it says "AEM."

and for all u guys who still thinks that k&n filters are made by aem, heres a history lesson. aem was only introduce in 1987 whereas k&n was here since 1969 making intake filters for all types of vehicles and motorcycles.
