Should I Buy? 91 Celica your opinions plz...
Im thinking about getting an automatic '91 toyota celica gt with 166,000mi from a local dealer, i love these 5th and 6th gen celicas, im just not sure whats a fair price considering there is a bit of work that needs to be done. As far as i know everything under the hood works just fine, the previous owner tried fixing it up by putting an intake and exhaust tip in it. there are also some pretty nice new rims. The headlights dont work at all and one of the flip-up lights doesnt flip-up at all, im not sure if its the headlight motor, faulty wiring, bulbs, or whats wrong with it. the hood latch in the interior is broken, but you can still open up the hood from the outside. the left corner light is out and gone and there is a pretty sizable scratch on the left front bumber. The previous owners attempts to customize the car did more bad than it did good to the car as the interior is an ugly white and lime green with a poor quality paintjob with the door panels cracking and accidental pain over the tweeters and the inside door handles. the shifters linkage is loose and i havent checked all the power switches. they wanted 2900 with the sparco racing seats currently in them, but i told them to take them out since im a little bit too big for them anyway and they arent that nice. i figure they retail for about 700-800. And without the seats they wanted 2 grand even plus paperwork fees and whatnot with agrand total of 2195. but then i found out that they wanted 200 to put in stock seats from a junkyard and they wont fix the headlights nor tighten the linkage. I was just wondering what all of you think i should accept as a reasonable price (considering that 2 grand is almost all my money because im only 17) with everything i also need to get fixed and also what else i should check for on the car??
Thanks much, and any suggestions are more than welcome
